Just wanted to share some great updated news on helping the veteran cemetery in Boulder City with grounds-keeping and maintenance.
As you may recall Ryan Troll, grounds keeper at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, sent out a request for help with the grounds keeping a while back. The Military Order of the Purple Heart and the Veterans Action Foundation were able to get help from the Henderson Chamber of Commerce, Community Cares committee and from Cindy Parker. The Henderson Chamber visited the site and is drafting up a plan of action to help.
In talking with Ryan Troll today, we learned that a company called LandCare sent Steve Swanson and 12 workers to the cemetery, who trimmed the grass for 7000 veteran’s head stones. Steve and his crew are returning on September 2, 2022, to do more grounds maintenance.
We would also like to thank all the individuals who showed up to help as well thanks to the efforts of Chris Crooks, Bobi Oats, Dan Peterson, Chere’ Pedersen, and all the others who helped spread the word. Our apologizes for not listing you all here.
